Entrance mosaic for Prendergast School, Havefordwest

We worked with the two classes of Year 3 to draw up designs based on the school’s values, this resulted in 2 metre diameter flower design with ten petals containing images of the values encircling a central circular ‘planet earth’. This was then cut out of marine ply to fit together like a giant jigsaw and the drawings transferred onto the wood.

A wide range of mosaic tiles, mirror tiles and found objects were glued to the backing mesh by the children. The resulting work was sited at the main entrance of the school and creates a jewel like glinting focal point that relects the changing weather and people visiting the school, revealing new aspects at every viewing.
