Garth Estate Noticeboards

This project was organised by ‘Springboard’ and funded by Communities First, we worked with local residents of the Garth Housing estate in Haverfordwest to design and create two noticeboards to be installed at either end of the estate.

With the group of 12 adults we created images that related to the area and planned out how they would fit on the Oak frames, marked them out and started carving.

Once the basic techniques of woodcarving were learnt the group became much more confident with their designs and skills, some members of the group have gone on to buy their own tools and continue woodcarving.
