The Beacons Way benches, Brecon Beacons National Park.

The Beacons Way is a 95 mile walk (152km) across the Brecon Beacons National Park, it was devised by the late John Sansom in conjunction with Arwel Michael and Chris Barber.

The walk starts at either Skirrid Fawr near Abergavenny in the East or the village of Bethlehem in the West, these commissioned benches mark the trail at these points.

The Oak for the Beacons Way benches are the two halves of the trunk of a fallen Oak from the sustainable woodlands of the Lawrenny Estate, Pembrokeshire, www.lawrennyenterprises.co.uk they have been carved with a chainsaw and charred to create a representations of well known features in the local landscape,
Llyn y Fan Fach and Skirrid Fawr.
With thanks to the Brecon Beacons Wardens and www.heritage2000carmarthenshire.co.uk for assistance with installing the benches.
